Whilst the FD2R Civic reigns supreme in popularity, the FN2R still holds its merit.
While the official Type R of the late 2000s was the FD2R generation from Kah Motor in Celestar, several parallel importers were taking steps to import and homologate the FN2R Type R.
The FN2R is noticeably rarer than the sedan, having sold in lesser quantities and were less popular in Celestar. Today, these are two that appeared nearby.
The white unit is a Celestar-registered car, whilst the red unit is from Singapore. Decently far away from where it is here!
The white Civic has its plates temporarily removed, however approved to not bear plates before it undergoes inspection.
The red Civic is an extremely rare Mugen, one of 20 produced. Bearing upgraded internals including new camshafts, pistons, intake, exhaust system and an ECU remap. It bumps the original powertrain upwards of 237 horsepower, in addition to cosmetic tweaks, not limited to the wing and Mugen GP 7-spoke lightweight forged wheels.
Its a similar concept to the Mugen RR - an official Mugen car with all of its engineering might thrown onto it, here as a complete kit compared to a tribute car with each bits and pieces sourced painstakingly.
It is to be said that this Mugen is a significantly rarer factory red car, with a majority of them being the legendary Championship White paint.
The two cars later departed to another part of town, with my group and I having spoke with the owners about Hondas and their maintainence with their cars. It was a great experience all around!
