Waiting a month for this event.. I think I want that high back..
Please tolerate me or look at another article if nerding on anime series are not your cup of tea, as this is the gist of this entry.
I have attended three AFA's prior to 2025 - 2019, 2022 and 2024. I did a pretty brave entry in 2022, came back in 2024 with a more suitable character and come now in 2025, a braver two-day plan.
Looking back now, I cannot help but be extremely embarassed by how my outfits came about, but its part and parcel for this hobby, I wager. Its cringe and all that, but in the heat of the moment I definitely was having fun.
While in other places like the shouty-platform that is ROBLOX that sees many series being painfully niche, some copiously old or seasoned anime and gacha games were present; a full-body cosplay of Kaga from Azur Lane, Girls and Panzer and a few others in 2025? I'm humbled.
I thought there was a big drought in Blue Archive popularity which is pretty correct in some aspects, given the first day I only spotted four other Blue Archive cosplayers: Kuroko, Sensei, Natsu and Hare.
Second day exceeded some of my expectations. I'm apparently now part of an unofficial Singaporean group dedicated to the game, having been roped in into a photoshoot specifically for the series I was dressed as, plus making some friends along the way - plus finding existing friends who were also in their respective outfits.
On a similar note, really happy to see car-related artworks especially in a mainstream event like AFA! Thank you @jeanpanzie & @tim_yrt for creating and selling these.
What fun, honestly. Thank you all for those who met me formally and had a chat or more.
After the event we did have a small photoshoot with the Lotus and a friend's Kia Stinger - their photos you can find on their respective socials.
About a day or two later since Sunday and I'm still in that "post-event depression" mood, given the high is no longer there. I could probably just attend future events again and fill that gap though. Until then, its back to the real world.
