About this website

This blog is dedicated to our sharings about general car enthusiast life in Singapore and others, a bit of a personal memorial of our youth and what we've done, seen, experienced, enjoyed. Sadly due to how things are run here, not all cars can live a full life as they would be intended. As such, we will try to document whatever we can and archive photos of what will one day become forgottens of the past. Life is a finite experience.

SG Archives: Honda Civic SiR (EK4) saloon

Tastefully done up Spoon-inspired EK4 SiR saloon!

There are still a handful of EK Civics roaming in Singapore, but few are as tastefully modified as this.

Believe in recent times I've spotted this Civic three times, and I can assure you it is this car, given how flashy it is ๐Ÿ˜‚

Primarily, these photos below were taken during the Dongfeng 007 launch. This car was one of several enthusiast cars parked during the launch location at the time, such as a (currently) new BMW M4 CS. But to not steal the spotlight for this Civic, those will be featured elsewhere.

The cover photo was taken at a much more recent event, at the CL7SG Mega Meet 8.0, which will be covered soon at a later date.

A huge tangent from the previous Honda Civic SiR I covered recently, this example owned by @benjamin_spartan071 is quite a visually loud car, and presumably audibly loud too but I wasn't ever around to hear it drive๐Ÿ˜ž

With much upgrades such as a Type R-esque grille, Spoon Sports carbon front lip and carbon mirrors, Spoon Sports big brake kit, fender cut-outs, carbon fibre bonnet, TE37s and supporting cosmetic upgrades and Spoon stickers, its a pretty coordinated build.

The original August 1997-issued plate number is also a nice touch, seeing as many of these cars are swepted up with their number plates retained.

I am honestly also relived to see a Spoon-inspired car that doesn't have the livery. Don't get me wrong, the livery is both infamous and good-looking, but I am personally slightly desensitized by seeing them on the web and in person.

That reminds me too, this car did previously partake in the SGRetroCar Retrocar Mega Gathering Series III meet from.. from two years ago!? I felt like it was three but also, but time really is flying..

Its a good comparison then and now to see how its been doing since, where most of the modifications and stickers were still on the car then, now with more accompanying parts to top it all off.

It is also a good comparison with this camcorder I used - seeing it now has mold in the lens..

The inner boy-racer in me is plenty-satisfied looking at this - certainly room for inspiration for a future EK Civic should I ever get my hands on one. Do visit the owner's page!
